Hi there, and welcome! I’m Abbie.

I’m an anti-diet, weight-inclusive nutritionist with a masters in nutrition. I’m also a body image coach, business owner, dog-mom, and lover of the outdoors. I worked in healthcare consulting and at start-ups for a decade before returning to graduate school where I received a master’s of science in clinical nutrition and integrative health.

My decision to change careers was a result of my own battle with disordered eating, a slew of injuries, and several autoimmune disease diagnoses. My gut was telling me to pursue my passion — working at the intersection of disordered eating recovery and body image healing.

I now live in the Bay Area with my husband and dogs, where I run my virtual nutrition and coaching practice and get to work with absolutely amazing people all over the globe. Together, we get to the root of body shame and disordered eating. I support my clients as they rebuild a relationship with their body that is compassionate, kind, liberating, and peaceful.

I’m here now because I’ve been where you are.

I’ve been there. Deep in disordered eating and diet culture — struggling in my relationship with food, exercise, and my body image — and doubting that it could ever get better.

The road that led me to this place was a culmination of factors: multiple autoimmune diseases, an identity that was overly wrapped up in my running career, and the nature of my highly sensitive and anxious personality.

My story is about a journey through and past my darkest moments and most limiting self-beliefs.

While none of our experiences are the same, and can never be compared, I want you to know it’s possible to find peace, regardless of how impossible it might feel right now.

Releasing control, for me, meant I had to expand my definition of myself, heal my relationship to food and exercise, and trust that my body was on my side.

I had to believe that there was something more fulfilling on the other side (spoiler: there was for me, and there is for you too).

This was no small task. It was heart-breaking and life-changing all in one. But it’s this lived experience, combined with my education, that allows me to connect with my clients on the deepest level.

You were born trusting your body, and you can reclaim that. You are meant for so much more than trying to stay as small as possible. It’s a leap of faith, and it’s everything you deserve.

My Philosophy

My practice is about you. It’s about understanding your unique journey, supporting you on your path forward, and helping you achieve the life your truly want for yourself. I believe food and movement are energy, fuel, connection, community, creativity, and joy. But I also believe we all deserve to live in a way that frees us of reliance on either one. You are more than a body, and you have a bigger purpose in this world than to shrink yourself for the comfort of others. Your body is not your purpose — it’s the vessel and vehicle through which you get to do life.

I support amazing humans like you in making peace with food, cultivating true embodiment, and developing a positive relationship with movement.

In my practice, you will never hear about “good” and “bad” foods. All food is morally equal, and there is no *one way* for all of us to eat. Food is fuel, yes, but it's also comfort, joy, tradition, culture, friendship, family, and so much more. That's what makes this work so important: I partner with and support my clients to uncover what makes them feel their best, and to leave the comparison behind.

Diet culture has taught us to spend all our time and energy on the pursuit of some elusive “perfect” body through restrictive eating and exercising behaviors. But our relationship with food and movement doesn't have to be complicated, stressful, or shame-induced. In fact, it should be the opposite.

I support you in working with your body instead of continuing to fight against it; to dismantle diet culture and anti-fatness; to honor and understand your body’s cues; to become more present in and connected to your body; to get at the root of why food and exercise have become coping tools for deeply held beliefs; and, most importantly, to create a way of being that feels authentic and aligned with your values.

What to expect.

  • An experience that is centered around you and your lived experience

  • Authenticity, transparency, and pervasive (not toxic) optimism

  • A path towards permission and peace with food, rather than restriction and punishment

  • A safe space to explore your relationship with food, movement, and your body image

I believe that you deserve to feel your best and get there with support, compassion, and a little bit (or a lot) of humor. Are you ready? Get in touch below.

“Abbie doesn’t sugarcoat anything. I think that’s what is so great about her. She wants to get to the root of all of the challenges we face because fixing it at the surface level won’t last. You have to start from the beginning.”
